Coming Soon: Storm in a Teacup, and MCM Comic Con

I have exciting news... A new Sam Hain story is coming out very soon!

For several months, I have been diligently working on finishing this next book; I overshot a couple of deadlines, as the story grew and doubled its originally intended length. But now it's finished, and - rather surprisingly - still approximately on time, it was worth every worried glance at the calendar as those first few target dates whooshed past.

It's called Storm in a Teacup, and is the second story in Volume II of Sam Hain - Occult Detective. You can read more about it just below. It's officially released at the end of May (available for preorder on Amazon), and I'll be signing pre-release editions at London's MCM Comic Con, 24th to 26th May (more details below).

I'm exceedingly excited to share this new story with you, and can not wait for it to be released soon.

Storm in a Teacup

In the midst of a heatwave, while the rest of the city enjoys the peak of summer, west London is wracked by strangely sudden storms. At the same time each day for almost a week, Hammersmith finds itself shrouded in thick clouds, torrential rain, thunder and lightning. Believing there to be a supernatural cause behind this inexplicable weather, Sam Hain heads to the heart of the storm to investigate. However, the occult detective discovers that there is something more than a thunderous deluge waiting for him. Something beyond belief...

The second story in Sam Hain - Occult Detective: Volume II, Storm in a Teacup sees Sam facing a thunderous temper of godly proportions.

Storm in a Teacup is officially released on the 31st of May.

The basis for Storm in a Teacup has been rattling around inside my head for a while now. When I first started to put pen to paper (and fingertips to keyboard) for this story, it all began with a storm. And, as the final sentence was typed and the last full stop placed, it ended with another.

Whether that's poetic coincidence, or divine providence, I can not say.

But I believe the rolling thunder answered.

MCM London Comic Con

Next weekend, from the 24th to 26th May, I'll be at London's ExCeL Centre for MCM Comic Con. I'll be in the Comic Village for the whole of the event, selling and signing books, and rambling on about magic and mythology. Most excitingly of all, I'll be pre-releasing Storm in a Teacup at Comic Con too, and I really can not wait for the book to finally be out in the world!

If you're going to be at MCM next weekend, come along and say hello. I'm directly between the doors for N1 and N2 at Table 116 in Comic Village. I look forward to seeing you there.
